Physioworks and the Cranbourne v’s Tooradin epic – let’s call it a draw

The epic battle of the birds last Saturday between the Cranbourne Eagles and Tooradin Seagulls in the Casey Cardinia Football League was a nail biting, heart stopping draw on the field.

Off field, another battle – albeit much more friendly- was taking place in the medical room as Physioworks Sport Physiotherapy colleagues Scott Williams (Cranbourne Physiotherapist) and Ben Shipperd (Tooradin Physiotherapist) opposed each other in a friendly, collaborative ‘physio rivalry’ to keep their players fit, up right and on the park.

And not only was it a draw on the field but it sounds like it was also a draw in the medical room!

Ben Shipperd explains: “Both teams simply would not surrender and injuries mounted. Scott and I had a really busy day assisting our players – and each other. Between us we had a broken ankle, a torn AC joint, a hamstring & calf strains amongst the injuries treated. Post-game and this week we have both been treating and managing these injuries to ensure best outcomes and planned rehab programs for the injured players; and communicating this to team management, which is a key aspect of our roles at the clubs”
Physioworks Cranbourne provides excellence in General, Sports and Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and has a specific aim to assist the playing squad of each club – and their wider community such as supporters and sponsors – with injury prevention, injury management and general health and fitness.

And it all starts again on Saturday. Good luck to both the Eagles and the Seagulls for wins this weekend – and to the physio’s for injury free games!!
