What is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapists are health professionals primarily concerned with the assessment, diagnosis, treatment & prevention of spinal & musculoskeletal disorders. They utilise their knowledge of normal movement & the function of bones, joints, muscles, tendons & ligaments to determine if they are performing effectively & normally.
How will Physiotherapy assist me?
Physiotherapy aims to restore normal & pain free function with the use of manual physical treatments including joint mobilisation, massage, electrotherapy, joint manipulation and exercises complemented by advice and education.
People who benefit from physiotherapy can range from athletes recovering from an injury, a worker rehabilitating from a back injury to the older person coping with the aging process.
Manipulative Physiotherapy
Manipulative physiotherapy is the term used for special handling techniques to promote healing of soft tissue. These techniques may include myofascial release, joint mobilisation & massage therapy to name a few.
Clinical Rehabilitation & Exercise (CRE)
“Clinical” refers to an accredited APA physiotherapist fully accessing you then tailoring, monitoring, supporting & reassessing an individual rehabilitation & exercise program.

Your CRE program may include some Clinical Pilates or Pilates-informed exercises, strengthening and/or balance exercises, performed either individually or in small group classes with a qualified physiotherapist.
Dry Needling
Involves needling to altered or dysfunctional tissues in order to improve or restore function. This may include needling of myofascial trigger points, periosteum, or other soft tissue. Dry Needling can be used as an adjunct to your normal physiotherapy treatment.
